Job Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the full set of accounts, budgeting, and costing, as well as participating in various ad hoc projects and assisting in fundraising activities. This role demands a combination of strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.

 

Responsibilities

 

1. Full Set of Accounts:

  • Maintain and manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P and GL
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, bankers and other professional service provider.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

 

2. Budgeting and Costing:

  • Prepare and monitor budgets, including analyzing variances between actual results and budgets.
  • Assist in developing project budgets and forecasts.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis for each project to determine profitability and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

 

3. Project Tasks:

  • Participate in various projects as required, providing financial insights and analysis.

 

4. Fundraising Activities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial models and projections for fundraising activities.
  • Support in the preparation of investor presentations and reports.
  • Engage with potential investors and stakeholders, providing necessary financial information and responding to inquiries.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field is required.
  • Possession of an ACCA certification or any other relevant professional accreditation is considered an additional advantage.
  • Progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with a track record of increasing responsibility
  • Experience in a managerial or supervisory role, demonstrating leadership quality and team management skills
  • In-depth understanding and familiarity of financial principles, accounting practices, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data, financial planning and analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying financial information to stakeholders.
  • Ability to present financial strategies and provide insights for long-term business planning.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced skills in spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and its applications to business and industries
  • Business level written and verbal communication skills
